The DesSoft Workflow is powered by two components: the Workflow Manager and the Workflow Client. The Manager centralizes setup, requiring only one instance to configure users, email notifications, and detailed workflow procedures. Both the Client and Manager allow users to open and view the graphical red-lined document, demonstrating that "a picture is worth a thousand words." This visual representation clearly highlights all areas and items affected by the change—crucial information often missed when relying on written descriptions alone.

Depending on their assigned rights, users can then approve or reject the change, enforcing adherence to critical Engineering, Health, and Safety standards. Statuses are easily tracked (Pending, In Progress, Approved, Rejected, Completed), and a complete change history is available at any time to see who has reviewed or signed off on the revision. Users can also view the Workflow Procedure to understand specific departmental expectations (Process, Electrical, Instrumentation). Critically, this system ensures all relevant parties are instantly aware of ad-hoc changes—a persistent challenge in any process operation.
